We are delighted to announce and welcome Rob Moors Consulting as a new SSF UK Collaborator for 2023. Most of you will remember Rob from conference last November and his fantastic, insightful and interactive Leadership Workshops.
‘Rob Moors Consulting’ was established in 2020 with the mission of helping L&D professionals halt the cycle of constant restructures and redundancies that tend to haunt our industry… How many times have you heard the phrase “always the first to go”? Through 1-1 and Group Coaching, we’ve helped L&D professionals re-think how they add value, prioritise, lead themselves and promote coaching; focusing on the responsibilities and accountabilities that are ours to own, making our value to the organisation more obvious and less expendable.
Since then, L&D began to spread the news; and now we support L&D, People, HR and Organisational Leaders to rethink Vision, Purpose, Performance, Results, Coaching and Leadership development, through the power of coaching; because the real impact is not in the bespoke content, it’s in the bespoke conversations.
Rob has over 20 years’ experience in Senior Leadership roles within People, L&D and Leadership Development teams; spanning organisations such as the NHS, TalkTalk and Sky.Why he does what he does:
Everything changed for Rob when he became a first time leader of people; a shift he was ready for, but not prepared for. His mistake?... Thinking he had to have all the answers. His epiphany came through leadership coaching, that helped him to realise that his job wasn’t to be the hero; but to guide, develop and coach others; within his own team, and with the stakeholders he served. Rob believes a simple shift is at the heart of future Learning and Leadership. For decades we’ve trained leaders in the skills and traits we want from them (Skillset), then provided the resources to deploy them(Toolset) but questioned their commitment when it fizzles out (Mindset).
By flipping the approach, it becomes much clearer... Get everyone thinking the same way about what they want to achieve and what they want that to feel like (Mindset). Then co-create the responsibilities, accountabilities and measures then will help us to monitor if it’s working (Toolset). Then... coach and develop the skills required to achieve all of this (Skillset). How Rob goes about it:
