JOHNATHAN WITHEY, DIRECTOR OF TRANSFORMATION AND ESG AT PLANET MARK
Jonathan Withey is Director of Transformation and ESG at Planet Mark, an internationally recognised sustainability certification awarded to businesses, properties and developments committed to reducing their carbon emissions.
Jonathan has spent the past ten years working closely with businesses to unlock their potential for transformational and sustainable change. Jonathan has an MSc in Business & Sustainable Development and has been awarded a Fellowship to the Royal Society for the Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce which recognises outstanding achievements in social progress and development. Having recently delivered a TEDx talk on net zero and solving the climate crisis, Jonathan is passionate about developing Net Zero transition pathways and supporting the broader ESG agenda.
DAPHNE DOODY-GREEN, HEAD OF CIPD NORTHERN ENGLAND
Daphne heads up the CIPD in Northern England. She is responsible for leading regional development and strategic engagement in Northern England, ensuring that our strategy reflects the diversity of businesses, organisations and members’ interests.
Her role is focused on building reach, influence and impact across the region. This involves partnering and building relationships with key stakeholders, CIPD members, employers, HR leaders, policymakers, business communities and networks to amplify our voice and develop regional insights that will support members and enable better work and working lives in the region. As a board member of three of the region’s combined authorities' Fair and Good Work Charters - Greater Manchester, Liverpool, and West Yorkshire – Daphne plays an instrumental role in supporting this agenda and working collaboratively to improve good employment standards in the region.
Having worked for the CIPD for over 20 years – and in number of senior UK and international roles - Daphne’s built-up expert knowledge in all areas of HR and the people profession, along with strong market and business development experience. She regularly chairs CIPD Conferences and judges on many national and regional HR Awards.
JONATHAN WHELAN, MANAGING PARTNER AT GARTNER
Jonathan Whelan is a Managing Partner in Gartner Consulting, based in the UK. Gartner, a global organisation founded in 1979, delivers actionable and objective insights to executives and their teams across every major business function, supported by 2,500+ analysts and experts who conducted over 460,000 client interactions in 2022. In his role, Jonathan focuses on enabling clients to make a difference for their customers, staff and society through understanding and harnessing all aspects of digital and technology capabilities.
Jonathan brings 25+ years’ experience in Industry and Management Consulting (across private sector and public sectors) which includes 14 years in the Public Sector, in various leading roles working across organisations in the U.K., Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Gartner, Jonathan was a Director at PwC LLP, Public Sector leader at Celonis UK&I and worked at the Ministry of Defence.
Jonathan joined Gartner in 2023 and works out of the Gartner EMEA Headquarters in Egham, U.K. Jonathan has a significant track record of successful delivery of business transformation and his subject matter expertise include large, complex multi-million £ business and technology transformation programmes, from strategy through to execution and benefits identification and realisation. Shared Services are a particular passion of his, having spent a large amount of his career working across Commercial, HR and Finance functions.
JAVED BOBAT, FOUNDER AT FIDE RECRUITMENT & F=@# MENTAL HEALTH CIC
Javed Bobat has a rare skill set where he is a Mental Health, Workplace well-being and Neurodiversity speaker and advocate; a Mental Health First Aid instructor, a Samaritans Listening Volunteer, AND an experienced Finance Recruiter!
He is the founder of Fide - an ethical agency the only one of its kind that combines finance recruitment with mental health. His unique recruitment model gives every client/person/team he recruits for their very own wellbeing budget - given to them out of each recruitment fee.
On the back of his own lived experience of depression, anxiety, addiction, abuse and suicide he launched F=@#! Mental Health CIC, a non-profit he set up in 2019 to raise mental health awareness, for both the finance profession/sector and workplaces.
Through the CIC, he provides one-on-one mental health/wellbeing support to individuals, line managers and workplaces. In addition, he also delivers Mental Health First Aid training, bespoke mental health/workplace wellbeing training, talks, Q&As, podcasts, webinars, workshops and events. He has worked with some notable businesses, from FTSE100 businesses like Burberry and other blue chip companies including Asda, Serco, and Liberty Global, charities/nonprofits as well as other companies of all sizes. He has also delivered talks, training and workshops to finance organisations including ICAEW, ICAS, Institute of Internal Auditors, Chartered Institute of Taxation, ATT and First Intuition.
Stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, absenteeism, and presenteeism are higher in society and the world of work than ever. The CIC is a purpose-driven socially motivated venture to try and make a difference. All the work he does through the CIC is free, pro bono, pay as you feel or subsidised. F=@#!
