The next Financial Accounting & Reporting network event is taking place online on September 10th and we are delighted to welcome Lloyd Powell, Head of Wales at ACCA UK who will be featuring at the event to discuss the latest talent trends. Lloyd will be delving into the results from this year’s survey, with a particular focus on the important areas of retaining and engaging employees.
Lloyd has worked at ACCA since 2016. His role as Head of Wales within the ACCA UK Team is to maximise ACCA’s impact in Wales and across the UK, increase awareness of our reach and scope, strengthen and shape relationships with members, employers, external partners and stakeholders, build ACCA’s influence, reputation and profile and to provide input into policy development at a UK and global level.
ACCA was founded in the UK in 1904 and today we are the global body for professional accountants, supporting its 252,500 members and 526,000 students in 180 countries. In the UK we have over 100,000 members working up and down the country, across all sectors, public and private, from micro businesses to large firms, helping individuals, organisations, and businesses to thrive.

Prior to joining ACCA, Lloyd worked in the University sector for over 20 years in a variety of roles, including developing and managing overseas and Wales-based teaching partnerships, including strategy development, business development, quality assurance, due diligence, risk management and finance. During his time in the HE sector, Lloyd worked in over 50 countries, including China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, South Africa and Qatar.
