Thanks everyone, this is what you value the most from your SSF UK membership and the word that stands out to me is Networking:
External insight to my organisation
Sharing best practice amongst shared services and supporting each other
Identifying contacts who can help solve problems
Access to other SSC leaders that are dealing with similar issues
Support and best practice
More facetime with network and peers , more time is needed for networking
Knowledge sharing, current topics
Mainly good networking opportunity, getting ideas about how we can automate tasks or use technology, finding out about others experiences with certain technologies and the real benefits/pitfalss, (rather than just getting the supplier's pitch) insights into other SSC operations and how their set up companies compare to our own.
Hearing about others challenges, experiences and successes. The conference is always informative and thought provoking.
Knowledge share, ideas generation, shared learning
Chance to benchmark what & how we're doing against others. Chance to discuss challenges and exchange ideas on possible solutions
Helping others if we've done something they are trying to do and getting help and ideas for new initiatives
The biggest benefit is the networking opportunity
Learning, Network
Shared experiences and open attitude to sharing and problem solving site visits
Understanding new projects undertaken by others and what has or has not worked for them. Opportunity to ask questions with a follow up discussion
Access for me and my team to other organisations who do similar work. Learning about new practices and opportunities.
Industry expertise
Time out to reflect, networking
Knowledge that issues are shared - and an opportunity for answers
The opportunity to share and learn from others & best practice guidance
Great to get other perspectives and benchmarking
