Last night was a very proud moment for our Group Business Services (GBS) teams at Sellafield Ltd, as we were recognised at the Lean Competency System (LCS) Awards for our continuous improvement journey and achievements.
LCS is the accrediting organisation for the continuous improvement training and development undertaken by many of our CI Champions, so having our journey recognised by them is particularly meaningful.
I was incredibly honoured to receive the Leadership Excellence Award, recognising the work undertaken to establish and embed a holistic Lean business system that has created sustainable change, team adoption and ownership.
While my name may be on the award, this recognition belongs to so many people across GBS.
Our continuous improvement journey has only been possible because our teams and colleagues have embraced it. They have engaged with a continuous service improvement mindset, taken ownership of making things better and continued to put customer delivery at the heart of everything we do.
For me, that is what makes this award so special.
It celebrates not simply what we have achieved, but how we have achieved it: through our people, our CI Champions and teams working together to create improvements that can be embedded and sustained.
I am extremely proud of the progress we have made, proud of our colleagues who continue to embrace and drive continuous improvement, and delighted to see the collective efforts of our GBS teams recognised in this way.
A fantastic achievement for everyone involved and a very proud moment for Sellafield GBS.
