The latest Order to Cash (OtC) Network Meeting took place on the 2nd May 2019 and was expertly facilitated by network chairs Lynette Fegan of HSCNI and Martin Kirby of Kier Finance, the latter also kindly hosting the meeting at Kier’s premises.
At SSF UK, we set great store by what our members can learn from each other. On this occasion, our member contribution was provided by Lynette Fegan, who took us on HSCNI’s journey from ‘Shared Services Newbies’ to CICMQ accredited organisation. Proving just how invaluable member insights are, we received the following feedback on Lynette’s presentation: ‘I left yesterday blown away by how fantastic Lynette was and the things she had achieved, have spoken with my manager and very interested in a meeting in Belfast with Lynette and her team. What a success story!’
Sue Chapple, Director of Strategic Relationships for CICM, talked through the benefits of joining the CICM professional body in supporting best practice and driving quality and continuous improvement within member organisations.
Justin Thomas of Winshuttle, 2019 sponsors for the SSF UK Operational Excellence network, made a guest appearance as sponsors of this OtC Network meeting. He focused on shared service centres and automation, exploring the differences between “generic” and ”ERP-specific” automation tools. This took a close look at bulk automation vs. collaborative automation, robots (and how to deploy them) and included a live demonstration of RPA and approval workflows.
Continuing the automation theme, the next item on the agenda was an open discussion entitled ‘The Robots are coming: Automation and OtC’ and the day was then rounded off with a Best Practice sharing session.
Sli.do feedback confirmed that the meeting was a great success, with attendees praising the presentations as useful, informative and engaging. ‘I found all three main presentations very interesting (…). Difficult to say which was the most valuable, as I got quite a lot from all three’ , ‘all delivered great info and prompted thoughts’ were just two of the positive comments received. The speakers on the day have kindly agreed to share their slides, which will be saved on the network resources section of the SSF UK website.
The next Order to Cash meeting will be held on the 23 July, location TBC. Members made a number of suggestions for content, including understanding Robotic Processing Automation with practical demonstrations, best practice in Accounts Receivable/OtC, credit policy and how to operate a great one, use of Debt Collection Agencies, KPI's; Collection Strategies and Collection Systems being amongst the ideas discussed.
Do join us for what promises to be another great network meeting!
