During Mental Health Awareness Week 2026, themed “Action – for yourself, for someone else, for all of us,” colleagues from NG Bailey’s Finance Shared Services team in Leeds demonstrated how wellbeing can be practically embedded into the shared services environment. On May 14th, the team stepped away from their desks to take part in a wellbeing-focused football session at White Rose Park, using the opportunity to prioritise both physical and mental health while strengthening team connections.
As representatives of NG Bailey within the UK Shared Services Forum community, the team’s participation highlighted the tangible benefits of integrating wellbeing into everyday operations. The session delivered clear outcomes, boosting morale, promoting physical activity, enabling colleagues to disconnect from operational pressures, and fostering stronger cross-team relationships. These elements are critical in supporting resilience, engagement, and sustained performance across shared services functions.
This activity forms part of NG Bailey’s wider Live Well, Work Well programme, which brings together a range of initiatives designed to support employee wellbeing throughout the year. From expert-led sessions on mental health and sleep to local team-driven activities, the programme reflects a structured and proactive approach to creating a healthy, high-performing workforce.
By actively participating in Mental Health Awareness Week, NG Bailey’s Finance Shared Services team not only reinforced the importance of wellbeing internally but also demonstrated to the wider SSF network how simple, inclusive initiatives can deliver meaningful outcomes. The event served as a reminder that investing in people, through connection, activity, and support, is fundamental to driving both individual and organisational success within shared services.
