This month we headed over to Leeds for a jam‑packed day with two of our brilliant SSF UK member organisations and what a day it was! Full of insights, collaboration and finding out what’s on the horizon for their shared service teams!!
We kicked off the day with a warm welcome from Ryan Virtue, Head of Finance Operations at Maples. It was exciting to find out what they have planned this year and Ryan shared a really insightful overview of his team, their structure, and their priorities for the year.
One of the big highlights?
A major office refurbishment! Ryan gave us a full tour of the current space and walked us through the exciting upcoming plans. Once the new space is complete, Maples are keen to host an in‑person event which is definitely something to look forward to!

This was a powerhouse session!! Each leader gave a thoughtful overview of their department, current projects and the challenges they are tackling including how they are working across 12 different systems!
Since joining, N G Bailey have been incredibly active, attending most (if not all!) events, they truly see the benefit of membership and are buzzing to engage even more!
And to top it all off…they treated us to lunch! It was amazing and very much appreciated.
Both visits offered rich insight, strong connection and exciting next steps. It’s fantastic to see how engaged and forward‑thinking both organisations are and how much they are ready to get stuck in with our shared services community!
Leeds well and truly delivered! Looking forward to the next round of visits and engaging with more of our members!!
