This morning our SSF UK's Leaders came together for another engaging online Leaders event, Leading Through the Messy Middle: Riding the Pace of Change, facilitated by Tammy Watchorn, The Original Change Ninja.
In today's shared services environment, change is no longer something organisations prepare for occasionally. It has become a constant. New technologies, evolving customer expectations, transformation programmes, organisational change, skills shortages and economic pressures continue to shape the reality leaders face every day.
The online workshop explored why change can often feel overwhelming and how uncertainty impacts not only individuals, but teams and organisations as a whole. Drawing on neuroscience, behavioural science and real-world leadership experience, Tammy challenged delegates to think differently about their response to change and provided practical techniques to help reduce overwhelm, strengthen resilience and navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.
Throughout the workshop, leaders reflected on the increasing pace of change and the importance of creating stability, clarity and confidence, even when there isn't a clear roadmap ahead.
One of the key themes to emerge from the session was that resilience is not about avoiding change or having all the answers. Instead, it is about developing the mindset, habits and behaviours that help us respond more effectively when faced with uncertainty.
The highly interactive nature of the workshop encouraged leaders to share experiences, learn from one another and take away practical actions that can be applied immediately within their own teams and organisations.
