After 2 years online we cannot wait to see you all again and also celebrate the achievements of our members at the FutureVision awards ceremony.
The last 24 months have changed everything; for businesses; for leaders; for employees. Now, as the dust settles, it becomes clear that power has shifted from organisations to people; from profit to mutual prosperity and purpose, from “me” to “we”. Employees need to RECONNECT and ask human-centric questions about the work they do now and their environment more than ever before; Why am I doing this? What is it for? How can we do it better? Depending upon the answers they find, many are choosing to REINVENT and change their career focus, or even leave their jobs altogether. The competition to attract new talent is growing fiercer than ever, which poses an existential threat to businesses everywhere. We all know that an organisation is only as good as the people it employs – but those organisations that want to truly thrive in 2022 will need to respond to this new power dynamic shift quickly and robustly. They will need to look beyond financial goals and outcomes, to consider the needs and expectations of all of their people, all of the time, together with an emerging social responsibility agenda. Gone are the days of employees being a part of the machine of workplaces during work hours, because now is a time for embracing employees as holistic humans, wherever and however they are working, all of the time. Priorities will include breaking down traditional functional silos, overcoming remote and hybrid working challenges – and growing culture and leadership focused on ensuring people identify with company purpose, vision - and ultimately each other. Only then, will we all be able to REINVENT and embrace the possibilities of the future of work, and make it work for everyone.
