Yesterday we held the latest FA&R network meeting at Lonza in Manchester. After a welcome and introduction from host, Andrew Hickson, Head of Finance, the group were presented with a Lonza showcase, explaining exactly what they do.
We then welcomed Jane Klepper-Stephens from the Apprenticeship Academy who gave a fantastic presentation, including information on the AAT Apprenticeship, who is eligible to do the courses and the funding, which then created a discussion within the group about what has happened around the apprenticeship Levy.

Sharon Taylor, Head of Finance - Shared Services, at New UK gave us an insightful showcase on their Finance Apprenticeship programme, which included an introduction to News UK, how the apprenticeship works, scheme history, attracting candidates, screening and assessment day.

Our next FA&R network meeting will take place on day 1 of the annual conference the 20th of November 2019. The agenda is being finalised but the subject of the session will include the following:
How to develop ‘Shared Services’ mind-set in team members - is it all about communication, leading by example or can mind-set be bought through training?
