Good Morning SSF UK members
I hope you’re all doing well.
Well... the day has finally arrived, and I must admit, I’m feeling a mix of excitement and a bit of nervousness! Today is the day for the Easter Egg Shave For Men’s Minds, and I wanted to take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you.
It's funny how certain moments in life stick with us. I vividly remember being at Heyford Hill roundabout in Oxford at precisely 7:02 am on the 30th of September 2016 when my best friend Lewis's mum's name flashed on my phone. Mental health is an issue that affects us all, either directly or through someone close to us. Reflecting on the past nine years, I can recall days when just getting out of bed felt like an enormous achievement. This journey has taught me that it’s absolutely “okay not to be okay”…. Seeking support from friends, work colleagues, and organisations like “Men's Minds Matter CIC” is crucial. Each of our lives is a journey, filled with both good and challenging times, and we never really know what someone else might be going through.
I encourage all of you to keep talking. My door is always open, day or night, if you need someone to talk to. I understand it’s the middle of the month, so I’ve left the donation page open for a while to accommodate payday as well. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated by both myself and the charity.
Remember, "Boys Get Sad Too."
