DIGITAL & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE NETWORK EVENT

We held the Digital & Operational Excellence network event at Cabinet Office this week and it was great to see everyone in sunny York.

The morning kicked off with an introduction to the Cabinet Office followed by a round the room quick introduction and then breaking off into small groups to dicuss the top 3 pain points in your organisation you want to fix. This created some great conversation and pain points included integration, skills and experience, funding, prioritisation and capacity, standardisation and compliance, business change and culture, pace and agilty, co-working, service transition, stabalisation, legacy and user experience. Great topics for future events!!

Next up we welcomed Paresh Mistry, Founder and Managing Director of ROLABOTIC who shared an interactive session on the 'State of the automation nation'. Paresh explored RPA to AI and shared what other businesses are really doing when you peel back the hype.

Paresh shared insight into real adoption rates and different typed of automation, its benefits and its drawbacks based on client’s experiences over the last 12 months. It was a great session to get everything thinking and provided plenty to takeaway.

After a networking lunch Nigel britton shared an introduction into member organisation BDO andJulia Wymer, Change & Implementation Manager and Tim Wickham, Automation Senior Manager shared their recent automation journey, focusing on what they have achieved in their SSC over the last year, how they have identified opportunities and how they have engaged with the SSC project team. Huge thank you to you all for sharing some great insights and fantastic to see what you have achieved.

The event rounded up with interactive breakout sessions to explore where we all are in our automation life cycle and we had a visit from Dr RPA who joined the groups to listen and diagnose and offer some advice and information.

It was a great event and brilliant to catch up with old members and meet lots of new ones too. Thank you to everyone that took the time to join us, thank you Jenny and Joe our Network Co-Chairs for facilitating, thank you to Nigel and the team at BDO for sharing your journey and thank you to Cabinet Office for hosting us.

All the resources from the day can be viewed and downloaded from the website.

The next event will be taking place online in October and we look forward to sharing details on the agenda soon.
