As we come to the end of 2019, we are reflecting on what a fantastic year we have had at SSF UK. We have had some amazing events, like our first leaders event at Concorde Conference Centre, which included an actual tour of Concorde........a great example of Tomorrow Now, when technology, combined with innovation and creative mindsets focused on one goal.
Our second leaders event, our ever popular Summer Social, Leaders event, took place at the Albert Square Chop House, in the Memorial Hall, Manchester. The Memorial Hall being one of Victorian Manchester’s most important civic meeting places, a place that catered for progressive thinkers and housed distinguished organisations, was the perfect venue choice. We welcomed award winning Magician and keynote speaker Sam Fitton who shared with us "how to bring a touch of magic to your business leadership!!!"
Our third and final event was held at Hotel Football, Old Trafford where we discussed "the performance of future management" and welcomed award winning speaker Heather Wright and wellbeing GP Dr Helen Garr. This led us perfectly into the annual conference, held at Aintree Racecourse and was a amazing 2 day event, with guest speakers including, DR William Holden, Jim Lawless, Scott McArthur and Wynne Evans.
Our network meetings have also been extremely well attended this year, including a field trip to the local Amazon Fulfilment Centre at Manchester Airport, where members were treated to operational excellence in action. A HR & payroll meeting, held at CIPP in Covent Garden and an Order to Cash network meeting held at the iconic Stormont Parliament Buildings in Belfast.
We have welcomed new member organisations, including News UK, BDO LLP, Morgan Advanced Materials, Hallmark Cards and Manchester Airport Group and hope you are all enjoying being part of our membership community.
We have also had the pleasure of welcoming new sponsors Winshuttle and EY and look forward to working with them in 2020.
After a very productive meeting with the Network Chairs last week, we already have some dates in the diary, which will be available on the website in January. Next year is also a big year for SSF UK as we will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We look forward to sharing ideas on how we plan on celebrating that throughout the year.
On behalf of all of us as Shared Services Forum UK, we would like to thank you all for your continued support and hope you all have a great Christmas and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
