Yesterday we held the next Financial Accounting & Reporting network event focusing on Future-ready FA&R services.
As technology continues to evolve at pace, ever more possibilities are emerging in terms of automation, collaboration and end-to-end value across the business. In the face of increasing demand from the business for finance processes efficiency and effectiveness, next generation controllership and compliance, integration of robot workers where possible – as well as a paradigm shift from historical reporting towards insights and a future view - how do we create progressive, future-ready FA&R services that will, in turn, contribute towards building a happy, more productive human team too.
Network Chairs Magda Makin and Andrew Doogan facilitated an engaging session of sharing and exchange, focused on learning about what we should all be doing to build future-ready FA&R services that will last into the next decade and beyond.
We kicked off with a hot topic session on Delivering successful FA&R technology implementations. This session explored and provided the opportunity to share how we are preparing for technology implementations today – and, through peer discussion, look at what we could do differently, to create more success in future.
The breakout sessions were extremely interactive and enabled members to share their hints and tips that have made the difference between success and failure in their own technology implementations?
We then welcomed Isaac Griffiths, Accounting Manager at Illumina, who shared the journey they have been on to implement a tool to assist with the automation of Financial Statement Preparation.
The second hot topic session explored Evolving Financial Accounting & Reporting Process and Controls and provided members with the opportunity to share tips, tools and techniques to help us improve our finance and accounting processes. And we finished with another insightful breakout session asking members to share what they think the future holds for FA&R Services, Processes and Controls.Huge thank you to everyone that joined us yesterday and we look forward to seeing you at the FA&R Networking Live event on day 1 of the annual conference at Emirates Old Trafford!!
