Every Minute Counts 2: Driving Wellbeing Across Shared Services
Employee wellbeing continues to be a priority across BAE Systems Shared Services, reflecting our commitment to creating a working environment where people feel supported, respected and able to thrive.
In January 2025, we launched Every Minute Counts, a wellbeing initiative designed to encourage mindful physical activity. The engagement was outstanding - more than 400 employees took part, forming cross-functional teams that strengthened collaboration and connection across departments and sites. Building on this success, we’re building on the momentum and running the challenge again for 2026.
This January, Every Minute Counts 2 is underway and the response has been phenomenal. Participation has grown to more than 500 employees, and the challenge has evolved to become more inclusive.
This year, we introduced ‘Wellbeing Minutes’, expanding the focus beyond physical activity to include any mindful practice that supports mental and emotional wellbeing - from reading and crafting to meditation or journaling.
The goal is simple: consciously take time to focus on your wellbeing and connect with your colleagues in the process.
January can be a challenging month, with colder weather, darker days and the usual post-holiday blues. Having a shared, positive activity is making a real difference. Engagement is exceeding expectations and there’s a genuine buzz across the organisation. It’s clear that our people are not only participating, they’re having fun!
Supporting Andy’s Man Club
Alongside the challenge, we’re proud to raise awareness of Andy’s Man Club, a charity dedicated to supporting men through peer-to-peer conversations and helping break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health. All funds raised during January will go directly to this cause.
