A Fantastic Start for Our Order to Cash Network at BSI, Milton Keynes

Yesterday we kicked off our first in‑person Order to Cash Network event, bringing members together at BSI Group’s Kitemark Court in Milton Keynes for a day of insight, discussion and practical learning.

Led by Network Leaders Nicola Clifton (HSS ProService) and Jayne Greenwell (Cadent Gas), the event created an open, collaborative space for Order to Cash professionals to connect, share experiences and explore what good looks like across the end‑to‑end O2C journey.

Setting the Scene & BSI’s Order to Cash Journey

The day opened with a warm welcome, introductions and an SSF UK update, setting the tone for what would be a highly interactive and engaging agenda.

We then heard from Michal Szurek, Global Process Owner at BSI Group, alongside Denise Padachi, Order to Cash Tower Lead, who shared an introduction to BSI and a walkthrough of their Order to Cash journey so far. Members gained valuable insight into BSI’s current ERP landscape, the challenges they are navigating and the future vision they are shaping for O2C as a core enabler of service delivery and customer experience.

Measuring What Matters in Order to Cash

A key theme of the morning focused on measuring what matters in O2C. Through facilitated discussion, the group explored which KPIs truly give visibility of process health, customer experience and financial performance. Conversations highlighted the importance of moving beyond traditional lagging measures to focus on insight‑driven metrics that reveal friction, drive accountability and support continuous improvement.

These discussions continued into the first interactive breakout session, where members shared which KPIs matter most in their organisations and how technology, automation and AI are beginning to support better measurement and decision‑making across the O2C cycle.

AI in Order to Cash – From Hype to Reality

After a fantastic networking lunch, the afternoon shifted focus to innovation and the future of O2C.

Rasmus Areskoug, CEO and Co‑Founder of Paraglide, delivered a highly engaging session on AI Agents in Order to Cash. Rasmus explored how AI agents differ from traditional RPA and today’s AI co‑pilots, where they are already delivering measurable value, and how finance teams can separate genuine innovation from market hype. Real‑world examples across billing queries, collections and dispute management helped bring the conversation to life and sparked plenty of questions from the room.

Building on this, the group then explored AI readiness in O2C, discussing the practical foundations needed to enable successful automation and AI adoption. Data quality, process consistency and controls emerged as common challenges, with lively debate on where organisations should focus their effort over the next 6–12 months to make the biggest impact.

The final session of the day explored what AI readiness looks like in practice, why it matters, and where organisations should focus first. This honest reflection and peer learning, reinforcing the value of coming together as a network to tackle shared challenges. The openness of discussion, willingness to share experiences and depth of expertise in the room made this a truly successful first event.

Thank Yous

A huge thank you to BSI Group for hosting us and for sharing their Order to Cash journey so openly. We’re extremely grateful to Michal Szurek and Denise Padachi for their time, insight and generosity, and for the fantastic hospitality shown throughout the day. It was a real pleasure to meet more of the BSI team and spend the day together.

Thank you also to Rasmus Areskoug and Paraglide for a thought‑provoking and practical perspective on AI in O2C and sponsoring the event, and to our fantastic Network Leaders Nicola Clifton and Jayne Greenwell for all your hard work and preparation in shaping the agenda and guiding the discussion throughout the day.

Most importantly, thank you to all our members who attended, contributed and shared their experiences. We are excited to build on this strong start and look forward to continuing the conversation online this July!!
